Staff and macclesfield Town players have revealed they have not been paid by the team.
The Sky Bet League 2 team had non-payment issues last year, and on Thursday that the gamers released a statement stating they were concerned about suffering a fate similar to Bolton and Bury.
The statement read:We players and staff in Macclesfield Town Football Club regret to advise that last seasons issues regarding payment of wages to staff and ourselves have re-occurred once more.
Saddened by the news of Bury and Boltons staff and players, we believe that the need to discharge this announcement earlier we find ourselves in a similar scenario as theres [sic].
Were now pleading with EFL to assist Macclesfield Town as a football club to not wind up at precisely exactly the same place as what Bury Football Club are seen themselves .
As staff and players, we stay committed and professional to honour our contracts below these extremely difficult conditions for ourselves and our families.
Sky Sports has contacted Macclesfield Town, that declined to comment on the topic.
The club lies 17th in the League Two table, ahead of Saturdays trip.
